Hi All,
For the next part of the course we are going to concentrate on Wikis, beginning with editing a Wikipedia entries. Being able to edit a Wikipedia entry helps you on your way from being consumers of information to producers of it!
This week we have an authentic assignment--to edit Finlandia University's Wikipedia entry.
To do that first read and get familiar with "how to edit a page," linked below.

Then, try out your editing skills in the Wikipedia sandbox:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sandbox
After you are comfortable with that, we will move onto editing the Finlandia University Wikipedia entry. Before that, Karen Johson, the Executive Director of Communications, will visit our class and give us suggestions on how she wants us to revamp the Finlandia University page.
This will be a group activity and graded as a group. I'll give you more details in class!

As you're associated with Finlandia University, you have a conflict of interest with editing the article. Be sure to stick carefully to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy as you go through the assignment.
